About This Opportunity

With the largest cohort of postgraduate students at UQ, the Business School is seeking a motivated, organised and engaged Senior Coordinator, Student Administration to lead a high-performing student advising team and drive the delivery of exceptional student administration and student experience outcomes. Working within a collaborative, student-centred and purpose-driven environment, you will partner closely with stakeholders across the Business School, BEL Faculty and the wider University community to ensure services are coordinated, compliant, and responsive to student needs. As part of UQ’s professional services engine room, you will help create meaningful change by supporting student success across the postgraduate lifecycle. Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading and supervising the Business School Student Advising Team, including workflow management, performance development, workforce planning, training and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinating postgraduate student administration activities across admissions, enrolment, academic progression, interventions, graduations, credit and exemptions, program changes and enquiry management.

  • Providing detailed, timely and accurate advice on complex student and academic administration matters, ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

  • Leading priority student recruitment, admissions and onboarding activities, analysing student data and trends, and developing insights to support future student engagement and marketing initiatives.

This is a full-time, continuing position in a busy, high performing Team at HEW Level 7.

About You

  • A degree with at least 4 years' subsequent experience in a university or similar environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyse and resolve complex issues while improving administrative systems, processes and procedures.

  • Proven experience managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service in a complex service-oriented environment.

  • Strong leadership capability, including experience in staff supervision, performance management, workforce development and team engagement.

  • Experience leading change and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and service excellence.

  • Knowledge of student and academic administration within a higher education environment would be highly regarded.
