What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Senior Coordinator for Competitive Sports. This position will provide robust opportunities for the Baylor Community in Intramurals Sports, Club Sports, and summer camps. We are looking for someone with experience in organization of sports tournaments, events, and activities. There is responsibility with risk management protocols, game management, official training and scheduling, and student employee supervision. The ideal candidate would have a high energy level, administrative skills, and geared for fun!
A Master’s degree and one years of relevant work experience are required. A Master’s degree and three years of relevant experience are preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Additional Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-generated budget experience and oversight
• Experience programming and instructing various sport/fitness/recreation activities
• Experience with risk management implementations as well as tournament direction
• Excellent leadership and administrative skills
• CPR/FA Instructor certification
• Blood Borne Pathogens training
What You Will Do
Assist and facilitate a comprehensive competitive sports program within intramurals and club sports
Hire, manage, and evaluate around 50 student employees
Schedule and run leagues or tournaments with over 200+ teams per sport
Be present at intramural programming to ensure participant safety and program efficiency
Communicate with participants to ensure safety and a positive experience
Manage and oversee the administration of 10–12 club sports teams
Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Summer Camps in the facilitation and administration of Baylor Rec Camp in the summer
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
Ability to comply with university policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
