Job Description

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Red Sox Foundation is one of the largest team charities in Major League Baseball, strategically using its platform to be a leading source of hope and positivity off the field in the areas of health, education and recreation. By coupling our year-round, direct-service programming with our grant-making initiatives and core partnerships, we utilize a unique model as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization to effectively triple our impact in New England and Lee County, Florida. The Development & Events Senior Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operations, sales, and strategy around the Red Sox Foundation’s events in an effort to mobilize individuals, corporations and organizations to give and get involved. Events, include but are not limited to; Boston Marathon, Fantasy Day, Fenway To The Runway, Monster Mash, Run To Home Base, Picnic in the Park, and Sam Deck Concert Parties.

Boston’s Pay Transparency laws require disclosure of salary ranges in job advertisements and the base salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $55,000-$65,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Events
    • Provide lead operational support around the planning, marketing, sales, and execution of over 20 additional Foundation events, projects and activations, including but not limited to:
      • Fantasy Day, Fenway To The Runway, Monster Mash, Picnic in the Park, and Sam Deck Concert Parties.
      • Assist with internal requests made to other departments on behalf of the Foundation.
      • Assist with the creation and tracking of event sponsorships and ticket sales.
      • Take on other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.
      • Development Strategy & Operations
        • Manage the operations and administrative needs of other key fundraising initiatives, including but not limited to;
          • The Boston Marathon Team, including overseeing communications with runners and assisting with fundraising tracking and reporting;
          • Auction redemptions, including overseeing communications with donors and coordinating deliverables with key stakeholders.
          • Manage in-kind donation solicitations and processes, including items for gift bags, food and beverage, and other elements, to reduce expenses and enhance the guest experience.
          • Support the Development Team with additional administrative responsibilities.
          • Assist the Development Team with in-park, game-day responsibilities, as scheduled.

CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in non-profit development and/or events, with a strong passion and desire to build a career in charitable and community outreach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
