The role

We are looking for a Senior Contract Engineer for a hydropower project based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan. The candidate must have extensive experience in contract management, FIDIC and claims resolution, particularly in Dams & hydropower projects, to ensure effective contract administration, compliance with contractual terms, and timely resolution of claims and disputes.

  • Develop, review, and manage contracts for hydropower projects, including scope, terms, and conditions.
  • Ensure that all contracts comply with legal requirements and project specifications.
  • Handle and resolve claims, disputes, and contractual issues arising during the lifecycle of hydropower projects.
  • Prepare regular reports on contract performance, claims status, and potential issues for senior management.
  • Liaise with legal advisors and external consultants as required to resolve complex claims.
  • Identify potential risks related to contracts and claims and develop strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all contracts, claims, and related correspondence.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. BE/B.Sc in Civil Engineering or Masters in Construction Management/Contract will be given additional weightage)
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in contract management, administration of construction management and claims resolution, with a focus on hydropower projects.
  • Strong understanding of hydropower project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • FIDIC contract management exposure
