Job Description

If you enjoy partnering with commercial leaders to navigate the intricacies of commercial contracts, please consider this role. In this role, you will be the primary go-to contracts expert to support our Americas (US, Canada and Latin America) region working closely with our Deputy General Counsel and collaborate with various departments, including Finance, Sales, Marketing, and more, to provide top-notch contracts legal advice in compliance with our Americas Regional Contract Administration Policy (ARCAP). You are ambitious and ready to grow into a broader commercial legal career, yet genuinely comfortable doing focused, high-quality contract work in the near term. This is a role for someone who sees contract mastery as the foundation of great commercial lawyering — not a detour from it. If you're passionate about good governance, finding the balance between risk mitigation and commercialization, and enjoy making an impact, please apply.

This role offers the flexibility of working a hybrid schedule from home and in our San Diego office (2 days on-site).

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate simple to highly complex contracts and other significant documents, with focus on supply chain and commercial agreements. This includes major aerosol filler and tier-one manufacturing contracts, retail partner terms and conditions and amendments, supply and service agreements, warehousing and distribution agreements, IT agreements, marketing and brand influencer agreements, letters of intent (LOIs), and NDAs.
  • Adopt and lead the implementation of the organization’s global contract strategy in the Americas region.
  • Coordinate the preparation of training materials and conduct trainings locally.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain contract templates, forms, and administration regionally.
  • Collaborate with Americas trading bloc leaders and staff on the appropriate use of consistent contract content that meets legal and business need. Assist regional offices with contract analysis, assessment of risk and decision-making.
  • Recommend local contracts policies, strategies, processes, and technologies improvements.
  • Provide appropriate legal perspective to prevent acceptance of undue risk. Provide pragmatic, astute advice on contractual risk under a variety of commercial contracts.

Qualifications

  • Law degree obtained from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 3–10 years of legal experience post law school, with meaningful hands-on exposure to commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation. We are looking for someone at the beginning of a trajectory.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in supply chain contexts. Experience with risk-based contract review — understanding what matters in terms and conditions and why — is more important than volume or seniority. Exposure to complex, multi-party agreements is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with cross-border transactions and international contracts.
  • Public company experience is preferred.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and drafting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple contracts and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High emotional intelligence and a consultative approach. You know how to build trust across functions, stay calm under pressure, and influence without authority. You listen well and do not need to be the loudest voice in the room to make an impact.
  • Supply chain contract experience, including comfort with tiered commercial agreements — from major manufacturing and filler contracts down to retail partner terms and conditions and amendments.
