ACCIONA has partnered with SMEC to form the Malabar System Alliance, working with Sydney Water on a ten-year program to upgrade Sydney's wastewater network. The first stage covers major upgrades to the Liverpool and Glenfield Water Resource Recovery Facilities, strengthening system resilience for Sydney's growing south and west, with completion targeted for 2029.

About Opportunity

As Senior Contracts Administrator, you will manage the commercial and contractual activities for the Malabar System Alliance, reporting to the Commercial Manager. You will oversee head contract obligations, variations, claims and subcontract management, and work closely with project engineering, procurement and finance teams to maintain strong cost control and forecasting. You will also provide expert contract advice and mentor junior contracts staff within the alliance.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

  • Manage head contract obligations and compliance

  • Prepare and administer subcontracts across packages

  • Progress variations and claims to resolution

  • Control costs, forecasts and monthly reporting

  • Negotiate and resolve contractual disputes

  • Partner with operations, procurement and finance teams

  • Mentor junior contracts administrators

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in construction, law, commerce or engineering

  • Strong experience in contracts administration

  • Sound knowledge of construction contract law

  • Skilled in claims, variations and negotiations

  • Clear communicator across diverse stakeholders
