Job Description

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We’re proud to partner with Catholic Healthcare to deliver Stage 3 of the McQuoin Park Seniors Living redevelopment in Wahroonga, on Sydney’s Upper North Shore.

This final stage will deliver 79 independent living apartments across two six-level buildings, with shared basement parking and landscaped communal areas. Upon completion, McQuoin Park will comprise 167 retirement living apartments alongside a 122-bed residential aged care home, forming a fully integrated seniors living precinct.

As the concluding stage of a major live-site redevelopment, the project requires careful planning, strong stakeholder communication and a disciplined approach to safety, quality and sequencing. Maintaining a safe, functional and respectful environment for residents, staff and visitors is critical throughout delivery.

With structure works now underway, concrete pours commenced within Building A, and Building B progressing through bottom steel ahead of its pour programme, this is an excellent opportunity to join the project at a pivotal stage and help drive commercial outcomes through structure and onto façade, finishes trades to completion.

HOW THIS ROLE MAKES AN IMPACT

As a Senior Contract Administrator at Growthbuilt, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the commercial performance of the McQuoin Park Stage 3 project.

Reporting to the Project Director with support from a divisional Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of procurement strategy, subcontractor management, head contract administration and project financial performance across this complex live-environment development.

You’ll work closely with the site delivery team, consultants and client representatives to ensure commercial risks are managed proactively, subcontractor performance remains strong, and project outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

This role is suited to a commercially minded Senior CA who enjoys taking ownership, influencing project outcomes and working closely with experienced delivery leaders on technically challenging projects.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

  • Leading procurement strategy, including tendering, package scoping and subcontract negotiations
  • Managing project budgets, forecasts, cost reports and cash flow performance
  • Administering the head contract, including variations, EOTs, notices and commercial correspondence
  • Overseeing subcontractor agreements, claims, variations, progress payments and compliance
  • Driving cost control and value engineering initiatives across the project lifecycle
  • Preparing monthly project reports, including financial, risk and programme updates
  • Working closely with the Project Director and site team to resolve commercial and contractual matters proactively
  • Maintaining strong relationships with consultants, subcontractors and client representatives
  • Supporting project delivery through structure, façade, finishes and handover phases

ABOUT YOU

You are a seasoned Contracts Administrator who thinks like an owner and thrives on creating value through strong commercial judgement, risk awareness and attention to detail.

You understand that cash is king on construction projects, and you take a conscientious, proactive approach to protecting commercial outcomes, managing risk early and maintaining strong financial discipline across the full project lifecycle.

You’ll bring:

  • 5–8+ years’ experience in contract administration within a Tier 2 or Tier 3 head contractor
  • Experience delivering 3+ end-to-end building projects, ideally Class 2 or 7a developments
  • Strong capability across procurement, subcontract negotiation and head contract administration
  • A detailed understanding of subcontractor claims, variations, EOTs, cost reporting and forecasting
  • Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of risk, entitlement and cash flow management
  • A conscientious approach to contract administration, documentation and financial control
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
  • Confidence identifying issues early, communicating clearly and driving practical commercial outcomes
  • A proactive, “get it done” mindset with the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • A tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline (highly regarded)

More than anything, your track record of delivering strong commercial outcomes, protecting contract entitlements and partnering effectively with project teams is what will set you apart.

Not sure you tick every box? Don’t let that stop you. If you’re aiming to step up and believe you could be ready for a role like this by the end of your next project, with Growthbuilt’s training and support, you’re ready now. Apply today and take the next step in your career.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Key commercial role on a major Upper North Shore seniors living redevelopment
  • Hands-on exposure to structure and complex live-site delivery
  • Hybrid working supported by Core Collaboration Hours
  • A modern perks and benefits suite including Loyalty Leave, Switch Off Days and Paid Parental Leave
  • Novated leasing, travel subsidies and trade partner discounts delivering value beyond salary
  • Clear progression pathways within a builder known for growing Senior CAs into commercial leadership roles
