Are you passionate about Lean and continuous improvement?

In this role you’ll help drive a culture of continuous improvement across Abacus Medicine by optimizing processes, reducing waste, and leading impactful improvement projects using Lean tools and methodologies.

As a senior member of our Continuous Improvement team, you’ll act as a Lean expert, supporting the development of our Lean framework and helping embed continuous improvement practices across teams, functions, and sites.

The opportunity

You’ll be part of the Continuous Improvement team in Budapest, working closely with colleagues across the Hungarian sites as well as Continuous Improvement teams and stakeholders across Abacus Medicine’s international locations. The role offers a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment, giving you the opportunity to work with different functions and teams while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

We would like you to:

• Drive comprehensive improvements across the company's operations.
• Fully manage and further develop the Lean idea submission system and coordinate the implementation of improvement ideas.
• Independently lead Lean and Continuous Improvement projects (e.g. 5S, VSM, Kaizen, etc.).
• Analyse key performance indicators, conduct root cause analyses, and lead structured problem-solving activities.
• Organize and lead Kaizen workshops.
• Support Shopfloor/Gemba activities.
• Prepare and document Lean maturity assessments.
• Follow up action plans and report their status.
• Develop and update Standard Work and SOPs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with different departments across Hungarian and international sites.
• Support training activities and initiatives aimed at strengthening the Lean mindset.
• Implement and maintain information boards and visual management tools.
• Provide Lean expertise and coaching to colleagues and support the development of Lean capabilities across the organization.
• Lead complex cross-functional improvement initiatives and support departments in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
• Perform process and Lean audits to identify waste, improvement opportunities and gaps against defined standards.
• Contribute to the further development of the Lean framework, methodologies, tools and standards.
• Support knowledge sharing, best-practice exchange and Continuous Improvement initiatives across Hungarian and international sites.

What we need you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification; Engineering or Business/Economics background is an advantage.
• Lean / Six Sigma knowledge.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or a related field.

• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
• Proven ability to independently lead complex Continuous Improvement projects, facilitate workshops, and influence stakeholders across functions and levels.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and time management skills.
• Open-minded and adaptable, with a willingness to challenge existing ways of working and drive change.
• Strong focus on process improvement and employee engagement, with cultural sensitivity and empathy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio; fluent in written and spoken English.
