About You
You’re a Senior Content Strategist with experience leading the full content strategy lifecycle and advanced content strategy engagements. You bring deep content strategy expertise and business acumen– combining both to identify concepts and patterns in complex situations. You’ve been known for solving problems with a pragmatic and practical approach, scaling your impact across the team.
The Opportunity
As our next Senior Content Strategist, you will build and lead content strategy across a portfolio of clients with increased complexity and strategic demand– serving as the Content Strategy subject matter expert across a spectrum of mid- to large-scale projects, with no oversight.
You will drive project implementation and lead advanced content strategy, working across disciplines to bring highly polished, innovative, and transformative digital solutions to life. Although you will not directly manage people, you will regularly drive team camaraderie, bringing empathy to create safe spaces for taking risks and healthy debate.
This role will ideally be based in the Chicago area for a light hybrid onsite/remote work model, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S.
Core Responsibilities
• Develop content strategy and messaging frameworks, editorial calendars, editorial/brand guidelines, content models, and publishing workflows that solve clients’ business and brand challenges.
• Shape and steward the processes, governance, and operational frameworks that translate content strategy into repeatable, scalable execution.
• Search engine optimization (SEO): Develop strategies that raise clients’ digital presence and discoverability within tradition search experiences.
• Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): Develop strategies that improve clients’ visibility, legibility, relevance, and discoverability within AI-powered search and large language model (LLM) experiences.
• Create and structure compelling content for websites, collateral, apps, and other digital experiences aligned to clients’ strategic imperatives and vision.
• Conduct content audits and gap analyses.
• Interview subject-matter experts to gather relevant background information.
• Facilitate client discussions, workshops, and presentations with clarity, credibility, and
confidence—guiding stakeholders toward alignment, informed decisions, and actionable outcomes.
• Collaborate across disciplines to create and refine solutions.
• Apply AI to accelerate and deepen strategic work (e.g., research, theme identification, concept exploration), while critically evaluating outputs and implications.
• Collaborate with teammates to assess how AI may enhance or impact a client's business, customers, or employees—surfacing opportunities, risks, and experience considerations.

Required Experience
• You bring 5 or more years of content strategy experience; agency or consultancy experience preferred
• You have a bachelor’s degree—preferably related to marketing, communications, or writing/journalism
• You’re familiar with content strategy, messaging and channel strategy frameworks/best practices, SEO/GEO and audience/market research methods and tools; Semrush, GA4, Yougov knowledge a plus
• You’re familiar with content design principles and creating content models and templates
• You’re familiar with content management systems; WordPress and Sitecore knowledge a plus
• You’re conversant in back-end content management, processes, and publishing workflows
• You’re familiar with AI’s potential to augment content work; hands-on proficiency in various AI tools a plus
• Experience in multicultural marketing a plus

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $69600.00 - $104400.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
Additional earnings may be available through incentive programs like annual bonuses, profit sharing, etc.
