We are hiring a Senior Content Specialist
to join our Digital Content Team in Tartu, Estonia.
Main purpose of the job:
A Senior Content Specialist is responsible for producing, managing, and publishing tactical, visually engaging, and user-friendly content across Finnair’s digital touchpoints. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams in Tartu and Vantaa. A Senior Content Specialist works with content management system (CMS) to create and maintain content, primarily on Finnair’s websites, including finnair.com.
Key responsibilities include setting content standards, implementing best practices, and developing processes to continuously improve content production and CMS functionalities for content producers.
A Senior Content Specialist is expected to take ownership of the content production area, offering support to Content Specialists and ensuring high-quality, consistent content across Finnair’s websites and other potential digital platforms. Strong experience in content management systems and a deep understanding of the technical aspects of digital content production are essential.
The role also requires the ability to work with various CMSs, troubleshoot content-related issues, and improve the work processes and roles of Content Specialists within the team. With their expertise, a Senior Content Specialist will mentor and guide other team members, helping them grow in their respective areas and encouraging the adoption of AI tools to streamline and optimise content production.
Main responsibilities
Utilise the content management system (CoreMedia) to maintain content across Finnair’s digital touchpoints. Build, update, and localise web content based on stakeholder needs
Manage redirections and short links
Test content updates and new layout functionalities to ensure digital solutions meet visual, usability, and performance standards
Investigate and resolve technically demanding tasks or errors identified during different stages of content production
Leverage AI tools to streamline content production and enhance quality, efficiency, and personalisation
Develop ways of working, set standards, and implement best practices to ensure high-quality content production and maintenance processes
Collaborate with the technical development squad and developers to improve the content management system, ensuring documentation and information-sharing processes are in place
Participate in testing and implementation of CMS improvements and features. Document and keep content production guidelines up to date
Provide support and training for CMS users, ensuring efficient use of the system and adherence to standards.
Taking responsibility for being an SEO ambassador
Produce, manage and publish tactical, visually engaging and user-friendly content in line with the Finnair brand guidelines.
Tools
Edit and publish content in the content management systems (CoreMedia, Amadeus, etc.)
Use CMS (Akamai; on a basic level) to manage redirections and short links
Use Project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack.
Processes
Collaborating with cross-functional team members, including developers, content designers, copywriters, product owners, and business managers, to enhance content delivery and CMS functionality
Manage translations within CoreMedia and utilise GlobalLink translation management tools to support localisation and translation processes
Work closely with technical teams to ensure the CMS evolves to meet business and user needs, providing feedback and supporting the implementation of improvements
Ensure the documentation of processes, updates, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing across teams
Representing Content Specialists in meetings with internal and external partners
Possible ad hock task relating to content production.
Key competencies & Experience
3-5 years of experience working with content management systems, preferably CoreMedia.
Technical and data-driven mindset with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve content-related issues
Proactive approach with a strong desire to find innovative solutions
Excellent self-leadership skills, with the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities independently
Systematic and detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and consistency in content production
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams in Helsinki
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Ability to work together with remote teams, work within a multi-cultural environment and travel between Tartu and Vantaa.
Required education and skills for the position
Higher education or university degree in a relevant field
Previous experience using content management systems such as EpiServer, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, CoreMedia or similar platforms
Strong understanding of content production and management workflows within digital environments.
Seen as an advantage
Experience working with digital services development, digital design, or digital marketing
Familiarity with technical aspects of CMS systems, including troubleshooting and optimisation
Experience with managing translations and localisation processes within CMS environments (e.g., using tools like GlobalLink).
