The Role

The Howden CAP Client Engagement team plays a central role in strengthening the division’s market position, enhancing visibility and supporting commercial growth across priority sectors.

We are seeking a Senior Content & Engagement Associate to join the team at an exciting stage of expansion. Working closely with the Head of Client Engagement, this role will support the delivery of high-impact, multi-platform engagement initiatives that elevate Howden CAP’s profile with clients, media, industry stakeholders and employees.

Partnering with sector leaders, brokers, marketing and design teams, data specialists and external partners, the successful candidate will help translate sector priorities into compelling content and targeted engagement programmes. The role combines strong executional ownership with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of client engagement activity.

This position requires a balance of creativity, attention to detail, commercial awareness and technical capability, with responsibility for delivering initiatives from concept through to execution, optimisation and reporting.

What you'll do

  • Support the development and delivery of sector engagement plans that enhance visibility and align with business priorities

  • Own the execution of targeted outreach initiatives, including end-to-end email programmes from audience segmentation and workflow setup through to delivery and optimisation

  • Utilise CRM and automation platforms (e.g. HubSpot and Salesforce) to build campaigns, manage audience segments and track engagement performance

  • Apply A/B testing and data-led optimisation techniques to improve engagement and conversion outcomes

  • Produce performance reports analysing engagement metrics, trends and campaign effectiveness to inform future activity

  • Contribute ideas to expand and improve engagement initiatives across sectors and business areas

  • Produce and manage high-quality content including insight pieces, articles, reports, announcements and campaign materials

  • Write and edit communications for a range of external and internal audiences, ensuring clarity, consistency and alignment with strategic priorities

  • Support the management and optimisation of digital platforms and website content, ensuring accuracy and relevance

  • Ensure brand consistency across all outputs, in line with Howden guidelines and positioning

  • Ensure all content and engagement materials are reviewed and aligned with relevant compliance, regulatory and internal policy requirements, working with appropriate stakeholders where needed

  • Coordinate engagement initiatives, managing timelines, stakeholders and deliverables to a high standard

  • Support the preparation of performance updates and materials for senior stakeholders

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes, documentation and ways of working

  • Support the delivery of event-related communications, including invitations and social media content, tailored to target audiences

Who we're looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in a market-facing content and engagement role, with experience supporting initiatives from concept through to delivery

  • Hands-on experience using CRM and automation platforms (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce) to execute and measure targeted campaigns

  • Good understanding of audience segmentation, email workflows, A/B testing and engagement analytics

  • Ability to analyse performance data and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex subject matter into clear, engaging content

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how engagement activity supports business development objectives

  • Experience working with CMS platforms and applying digital best practice (including SEO principles)

  • Awareness of compliance and regulatory considerations when producing client-facing communications

  • Working knowledge of data protection and responsible data management

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines effectively

  • Confident working with a range of stakeholders and collaborating across teams

  • Proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-focused, with a willingness to learn and contribute new ideas
