Job Description
Our client is a nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm with a strong valuation and financial modeling practice serving start-ups, private and public companies, venture capital and private equity firms, attorneys, and estates. They are seeking a client-facing Valuation Senior Consultant to support a variety of complex valuation engagements across financial reporting, tax, litigation, and strategic advisory matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing team with strong exposure to complex securities and financial modeling work.
Candidates must be able to come into one of these office locations 50% of the time - Seattle, Los Angeles, Orange County, St. Louis, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Jose
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver business valuation engagements for purposes including financial reporting (ASC 805/350), 409A/ASC 718, gift and estate tax, litigation support, management planning, and M&A
- Develop and analyze financial models including Discounted Cash Flow analyses, Option Pricing Models, Black-Scholes, and other scenario-based valuation methodologies
- Perform valuations involving complex capital structures, including preferred equity, convertible instruments, warrants, and other equity-linked securities
- Research and analyze comparable public/private companies and transactions to derive valuation multiples and support conclusions
- Prepare detailed valuation reports and supporting narrative analyses
- Participate in all stages of engagements from proposal preparation through project completion
- Review work performed by analysts and provide mentorship, guidance, and quality control oversight
- Support meetings and communications with clients and external stakeholders
- Conduct independent reviews of third-party valuation reports and methodologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of valuation experience within a valuation, accounting, or consulting firm environment
- Strong understanding of complex securities valuation concepts and option-pricing methodologies; required
- Experience working with sophisticated capital structures and scenario-based analyses
- Relevant certifications such as ASA, CPA, ABV, CVA, CEIV, or progress toward certification preferred
- Prior experience addressing auditor or IRS review comments is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Flexibility to travel to client sites as needed and work in a hybrid environment
Compensation Targeting compensation of ~$95-130k
