Senior Consultant FATCA / CRS / QI - Tax – Financial Services

The Opportunity

Our Tax & Legal practice for financial services in Belgium is growing fast, and our team members are dealing with the most diverse tax and legal matters. We offer specialized tax services to a significant number of top financial institutions, both in Belgium and abroad.

Amongst the different key focus areas of its financial services tax team, the Qualified Intermediary (QI) regime and the different automatic exchange of information (AEOI) regimes including FATCA, CRS, DAC6, DAC7,… have become increasingly important. EY has built a market leading team specializing in QI and AEOI matters. To support the further growth of the team, we have different open positions for experienced QI and AEOI specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Advice regarding tax technical matters involving the QI regime or AEOI matters.
• The performance of impact assessments involving an analysis of business products and processes with a view to determining the potential impacts of QI, FATCA, CRS, QI, DAC6 or DAC7 and implementation strategies.
• The design of operating models encompassing end-to-end operational processes, governed by critical tax advisory, change management and oversight activities with a focus on automation and use of technology.
• Assistance with Form 1042, 1042-S and 1099 reporting.
• Assisting clients wishing to obtain QI status.
• Design of compliance programs.
• Compliance verification projects and assistance with responses to queries and audits from tax authorities.
• Tracking policy and legislative developments in the area of customer tax transparency and preparing customer alerts, sales campaigns and conferences to explain new developments and their impact on our customers as well as relevant EY solutions.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Degree in Law, Economics, Finance, with a specialization and / or additional degree in Taxation.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in tax consulting.
• Experience in the financial services area, working on QI and AEOI matters.
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English and solid knowledge of French and/or Dutch.
• Positive attitude and a team player spirit, excellent time management skills and eagerness to learn.
• Result oriented, with an eye for detail and a strong customer focus.
