About the Opportunity

Ellucian is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant who will bring new and creative solutions to the evolution of our product while supporting our design principles: extensibility, configuration, usability, openness, and scalability. The individual will engage in the full development life cycle, from specification review to product adoption. The expectations for candidates to fill this role include significant experience in the areas below.

Where you will make an impact

• Work with a team of developers and other peers to build API based integrations between the Banner/Colleague ERPs and third party products and test the processes according to the prepared specifications.
• Create and execute accurate unit test cases to ensure thorough integration testing of customization before delivery
• Leads and directs work of the functional/technical team on customer projects. Performs team lead functions for assigned project.
• Contributes to the definition of client engagement.
• Mentors and trains less experienced consultants and reviews their work.
• Supervises other consultants to develop organizational standards, effective practices and knowledgebase.
• Works with practice leadership to develop practice initiatives that promote growth and development within the practice.
• Interacts with the customer and other consultants to translate business requirements into functional specifications for conversions, reporting, interfaces and customizations.
• Monitors, tracks, and reports project risks, issues, milestones and work completed, as well as work that is underway. Provides leadership for the customer enabling them to stay on time and on task.
• Facilitates business process review and application prototyping sessions as well as providing
• Insight into best practice methodologies.
• Evaluates and modifies systems, where appropriate, relative to the customer business practices.
• Provides customer high-quality business process, change management and other appropriate documentation.
• Provides direction in developing testing methodology and test scripts for use during upgrades, patch application and customizations.
• Works with the customer to test and confirm modifications and/or updates meet specifications.
• Implements modifications and/or updates.
• Provides guidance in the development of user-training strategy, and when appropriate, delivers such training.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and self-starter attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Strong communication and analytical skills with demonstrable presentation and professional communication skills (written and verbal).
• Demonstrated aptitude for logical application of problem-solving techniques.

• Have an aptitude to learn new / related technologies quickly and apply them on the projects you work on.

What you will bring

• Bachelor in computer science degree or equivalent
• 7 – 12 years of programming experience in JavaScript, React, Node JS, Oracle SQL and Restful Web Services.
• Exhibits a strong sense of ownership for individual work assignments
• Experience working independently with little direction to achieve goals. Ability to work with a remote team leveraging available tools.
• Brings an established, effective method for tracking and completing tasks on time.
• Prefers a collaborative work environment over working solo, with a bias towards sharing credit for achievement over individual recognition.
