Senior Consultant - Process and Control - Risk Consulting

The opportunity

As a Senior Consultant in the Risk Consulting practice, you will work with top tier clients to address their biggest risks through forward looking, technology-enabled enterprise risk and internal audit, with a focus on people, process and purpose to drive long term value.

This is a hybrid position based in our Tarntanya - Adelaide office.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for working on multiple client engagement teams across various sectors
  • You will support delivery a diverse range of projects across for clients, including risk transformation projects, internal audit projects, and contract assurance and internal control programs.
  • You will help clients identify opportunities to mitigate risk and improve process efficiency, effectiveness and business performance
  • You will leverage innovative tools and AI to evaluate the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes, controls, activities, policies and systems
  • You will be able to leverage EY’s global network to identify solutions which solve our clients’ biggest problems and support them on their transformation journey
  • You will prepare reports to meet the varying needs of client stakeholders

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong understanding of key business processes, risks and controls
  • Experience in using key internal auditing techniques such as process walkthroughs, risk analysis, data analytics, control identification and assessment and testing of operating effectiveness
  • Experience in holding client meetings to solicit information required
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues across the business, supporting them and promoting a collaborative culture

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to build relationships with clients to better understand their businesses and provide relevant insights
  • The skills to apply a structured approach to project management and documentation, and a demonstrated understanding of risk-based internal audit methodologies
  • Experience working for a blue chip, government or professional services organisation as an Internal Auditor.
  • Experience supporting less experienced team members develop their risk consulting skills.
