Job Description

HealthPartners is hiring a Senior Consultant, Learning and Development. The Senior Consultant is responsible for the development, implementation and management of programs, resources and initiatives that support learning and development, as well as organizational effectiveness. This position works in partnership with learning and development colleagues, as well as each Employer’s Human Resources leaders to support all leaders, aspiring leaders, and teams to Partner for Good to improve health and well-being with those we serve.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Coaching and Communications:
  • Effectively uses consulting and influencing skills to develop valued relationships with key stakeholders, and provides coaching to leaders.
  • Serves as a communications expert to translate learning and development principles into information that is engaging, relevant, useful and easily understood.
  • Works in close partnership with each Employer’s HR leaders to ensure development content, programs and resources are instructionally sound and that the concepts are consistent and interconnected across all programs.
  • Manages brand tone and voice on all offerings; draws connections to our Mission, Vision, Values, Partner for Good culture, and our overall development strategy for the enterprise.
  • Creatively brings training to life with innovative approaches, designed specifically to meet the needs of intended audience
  • Helps trainers and presenters of learning and development content to communicate effectively and engage with their audiences.
  • Participates on cross-functional teams and provides expertise and recommendations from a learning and development perspective.
  1. Design and Implementation:
  • Manages and supports large complex initiatives and facilitates instructor led classes.
  • Appropriately integrates existing cultural expectations (i.e., rounding, leading team huddles, sharing steps we’re taking to meet our goals) into all learning and development programs and offerings.
  • Contributes to and executes communications plans to promote new Development programs, increase awareness of offerings throughout the year, and nurture a culture of continuous self-improvement through offerings.
  • Manages Development programs as assigned; contributes to other Development initiatives.
  • Supports overall annual calendar of offerings, Leader Site and/or LMS and intranet content, and all other materials that communicate program availability, class purposes and helpful resources related to learning and development.
  • Effectively measures development programs and regularly reports results to team.
  • Prioritizes workload to balance short and long-term departmental goals, resource constraints, and anticipate impact to the business.
  • Integrates use of collaboration workspaces (SharePoint) and other technologies (e.g., LMS) into day-to-day operations and processes.
  • Documents and/or updates departmental standard work and supports knowledge transfer.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, organizational effectiveness, communications, psychology or other applied behavioral sciences, business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, corporate training and/or communications.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Experience working in partnership with HR leaders and consultants to improve development programs.
  • Excellent communication skills through verbal and written means with individuals, small groups and in front of large audiences at all levels of the organization. Has thorough knowledge and demonstrated competence of presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Working knowledge of development systems and methods, including in-person programs, action learning, e-learning and classroom learning.
  • Experienced at editing content (written, in presentation format, script writing, etc.) and using storytelling to share information.
  • Experienced in using communications plans that support business objectives.
  • Easily builds credibility and trust with leaders.
  • Effective at working through others to accomplish objectives; demonstrates competence and experience influencing groups to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with others with diverse backgrounds and at various organizational levels; engages and builds effective relationships across the organization.
  • Regularly provides feedback, expresses opinions, observations and conclusions to help achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrates high levels of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy, and execution skills.
  • Excellent management consultation skills and ability to manage client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented and proficient in project management; able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in use of SharePoint.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and sensitive information in a professional manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in human resources management, organizational effectiveness, communications, psychology or other applied behavioral sciences, business administration or related field.
  • Experience leading instructional designers, facilitators, and/or eLearning developers in the development of leadership development programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles, participative training design, and interactive learning methods.
  • Expertise in key strategies and tools to support organizational effectiveness, including workforce planning, change & transition, process improvement, employee engagement, performance management and/or measurement & data analysis.
  • Healthcare and/or health insurance industry experience.
