EY is expanding its market-leading Non-Life Actuarial practice and is looking for experienced professionals who want to make impact across the Dutch insurance market. As part of our Financial Risk Management team, you will combine actuarial expertise, audit exposure, model validation and strategic advisory work. A significant part of the role involves supporting external audits of insurers, where you will bring actuarial and quantitative expertise to the largest financial institutions in the market. At the same time, you will have opportunities to contribute to advisory projects, model validation engagements and broader risk management initiatives across the insurance sector. The variety of projects offers a dynamic and flexible role that not only enables you to deepen your specialist non-life expertise but also provides opportunities to broaden your perspective across actuarial, risk and regulatory topics.

Your new job | About your main responsibilities

The FRM team supports insurance companies, banks, pension funds, public sector organizations, and other financial institutions across a broad range of quantitative and risk-related topics. Activities include actuarial analyses, risk management, financial reporting, regulatory change, model development, validation, data analytics and wider advisory engagements. Within the actuarial practice, we see strong demand from non-life insurers on topics such as claims reserving, actuarial modelling, financial reporting, Solvency II, IFRS 17, model validation and insurance regulation. Our work spans both advisory engagements and audit-related services, allowing professionals to work on a diverse range of client challenges across the largest insures in the Dutch market. As the financial services industry continues to evolve, there is increasing focus on topics such as (Gen)AI, advanced analytics, and the integration of ESG considerations into actuarial and risk models. Through this evolution, EY offers you the opportunity to apply these capabilities in real client engagements while maintaining a strong foundation in core actuarial disciplines.

Our office in Amsterdam is located at the Zuidas: a bustling area where many companies are based. In our Cross Towers, as many as 1500 people are welcomed daily. Your skills and strengths | About your unique contribution

As a Senior Consultant in the FRM team, your primary responsibilities will include delivering quantitative and actuarial analysis, while establishing relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and consistently delivering quality client services. Other expectations may include:

• At least 3 years of experience in Financial Services, either as part of an institution; in an advisory or business consulting capacity to such organizations or in the regulation of such institution.
• Strong academic background including at least a Master’s degree in a quantitative study, e.g. Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in one or more non-life actuarial topics, such as claims reserving, actuarial modelling, financial reporting, Solvency II, IFRS 17, model validation and insurance regulation.
• Experience with or affinity for supporting external audits of (non-)life insurers, including the assessment of claims reserves, actuarial assumptions and IFRS17 and Solvency II-related calculations.
• Experience in any of the following software development environments: Python / R / VBA / Java / C++ / SQL / Matlab / .NET.
• Ability to drive business development and contribute to the growth of EY market solutions.
