As the Senior Consultant, Fieldwork Coordinator – Power Sector, based in Walnut Creek, California, you’ll be at the center of fast‑moving environmental, biological, and construction‑monitoring programs across Northern California. This is a strategic, high‑visibility role where your decisions shape field operations, support frontline teams, and keep major impact‑assessment and energy projects running smoothly. What You’ll Bring

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–4 years of environmental fieldwork, construction monitoring, or field‑logistics experience.
• Must reside within the Pacific Standard Time zone.
• Ability to manage multiple fast‑moving tasks while adapting to shifting priorities.
• Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and sound decision‑making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client‑ and landowner‑facing interactions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and mobile communication platforms; familiarity with GIS or GPS‑based field tools.
• Ability to work long or flexible hours to support non‑standard fieldwork operations.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

• Experience coordinating field teams or managing scheduling, equipment, or site‑access logistics.
• Exposure to environmental compliance programs (CEQA/NEPA, MBTA, ESA, Clean Water Act) or construction‑monitoring workflows.
• Education or experience related to California biological resources.
• Residing in Northern California.
• Certifications such as First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, or similar credentials.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily and weekly deployment schedules for field teams across Northern California, adapting to weather, access limitations, safety considerations, and evolving project priorities.
• Serve as the communication hub between field crews, project managers, contractors, landowners, and clients—providing real‑time updates, direction, and troubleshooting.
• Manage field logistics, including mobilization, demobilization, and movement of personnel and equipment.
• Provide occasional outside‑business‑hours support for urgent schedule changes or field needs.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining strong document control, communication, and progress tracking.
• Support property access planning and outreach to landowners regarding timelines and restrictions.
• Reinforce ERM’s safety protocols and provide immediate guidance when conditions shift in the field.
• Support adherence to federal, state, and client‑specific requirements related to biological monitoring, construction monitoring, and environmental compliance.
• Mentor junior field staff on readiness, communication, safety, and field expectations.
• Assist with onboarding new field team members, including communication protocols, equipment use, and reporting.
• Support client communications, including schedule updates and field‑progress summaries.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with ERM colleagues.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

For the Senior Consultant, Fieldwork Coordinator – Power Sector position, the anticipated annual base pay is $69,386–$102,301 (USD) Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
