In today's fast-paced business landscape, unanticipated risks can have significant consequences. At Deloitte we're on a mission to empower organizations to navigate these complexities with confidence.

Job Description

  • Analyze and document end-to-end trading processes—deal capture, optimization, logistics, risk, settlements and reporting—across power, gas, LNG, crude, NGLs and environmental products.
  • Assess current ETRM/CTRM landscapes, identify data and workflow gaps, and recommend improvements independent of vendor.
  • Design target operating models, control frameworks and roadmaps that align people, process and technology to strategic goals.
  • Drive digital initiatives such as data-driven trading, advanced analytics and automation proof-of-concepts.
  • Facilitate client workshops, manage work-stream deliverables, track risks and provide clear status updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposals, market research and thought-leadership pieces that expand our Energy Trading & Risk Management offering.
  • Develop and validate pricing models for multi-commodity derivatives and structured products; assess methodological soundness and calibrate assumptions to market conditions.
  • Support valuation frameworks for complex trading portfolios, ensuring consistency with accounting standards and risk reporting requirements.
  • Analyse market and credit risk sensitivities; contribute to model governance, backtesting and independent validation.
  • Translate quantitative requirements into any trading system specifications and data architecture; support implementation of risk measurement frameworks.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years' experience in commodity/energy trading, consulting, risk management or a related industry role.
  • Solid grasp of trade-life-cycle fundamentals and how commercial drivers translate into system and process requirements.
  • You can deliver both consulting projects and technical solutions.
  • Exposure to ETRM/CTRM platforms and associated data flows; comfortable analyzing front-, middle- and back-office needs.
  • Familiarity with pricing models, valuation methodologies, market risk (VaR, Greeks, sensitivity analysis) and credit risk frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to operate in agile, client-facing teams.
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field; postgraduate study or certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, Scrum) are a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning, creative problem solving and working across multiple commodities and geographies.
