Job Description

Clarivate is seeking a SeniorConsultantto join our Academic and Government Consulting team within the Research & Analytics business unit. With a focus onHong Kong, Macau, and selected English-speaking markets, in this role you will be working with colleagues to cultivate strong relationships with our clients and help universities, research institutes, and governments to develop and implement their strategic plans and approaches in research and education. Working in collaboration with Product, Sales, Marketing, and other Consulting practice areas.To support business growth inabovemarkets by delivering high-quality consulting projects and enabling pre-sales. The role requires a combination of analytical capability, client engagement, and strong storytelling to produce client-ready outputs.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments.

  • PhD (STEM disciplines preferred)
  • Above 5 years of experience in consulting / research analytics / policy research
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate insights, complemented by strong qualitative thinkingandanalyzingto interpret context and develop compelling narratives
  • Excellent English writing skills, with the ability to produce polished, client-ready outputs (critical)
  • Proven experience in client-facing roles, withstrong communicationand stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate data into clear, structured insights and differentiated narratives
  • Strong senseof ownership, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)

  • Experience working with academic institutions or government clients
  • Familiarity with bibliometrics, research evaluation, or policy analysis
  • Experience developing case studies or externally published reports (e.g., white papers)
  • Ability to combine quantitative analysis with contextual research to enrich insights

  • Basedin(or willing torelocateto) the Greater Bay Area

What will you be doing in this role?

The position offers challenging hypothesis-driven projects for professionals with a scientific background and leadership experience around data-driven science management. The Senior Consultant will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Support pre-sales by shaping opportunities, developing proposals, and engaging with clients
  • Work closely with Sales to understand client needs and define project scope and approach
  • Deliver consulting projects end-to-end (analysisinsight generationreporting)
  • Conduct data analysis (e.g., research performance, benchmarking) and translate findings into actionable insights
  • Develop high-quality, structured, and externally presentable deliverables
  • Identifykey highlights and craft compelling, client-facing narratives from complex datasets
  • Integrate data analysis with desk research and contextual information to strengthen outputs
  • Manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines

Hours of Work

This role is based in theGreater Chinaand is a full-time, hybrid position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.
