Senior Consultant

Financial Accounting & Due Diligence

USA: Chicago, IL or San Diego, CA (Hybrid)

MGO is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Due Diligence & Financial Accounting practice. This role is primarily focused on financial accounting and financial reporting, with opportunities to support transaction-related, forensic, and advisory engagements.The role supports clients across a broad range of industries and requires strong technical accounting expertise, rigorous analytical skills, and the ability to deliver clear, actionable insights on complex accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform financial accounting analyses including general ledger review, journal entries, account reconciliations, and evaluation of financial statements under U.S. GAAP
• Identify accounting issues, reporting risks, and control gaps, and assist in developing practical remediation recommendations
• Support month-end and year-end close processes as part of client advisory engagements
• Perform financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions, including quality of earnings and financial statement analysis
• Support forensic, fraud, and litigation-related engagements as needed, including documentation and analytical support
• Prepare clear, well-documented workpapers and client-ready deliverables
• Collaborate with engagement teams and participate in client meetings to present findings and recommendations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA required or CPA-eligible, with active progress
• 3+ years of professional services experience primarily focused on financial accounting, with additional exposure to due diligence, forensic accounting, fraud, or litigation support
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills; data analytics experience a plus

Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 + Bonus programs
