– Senior Cloud Database Engineer (AWS / Aurora PostgreSQL)
Experience8+ years of experience in database administration, cloud database architecture, and performance optimization.
Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade databases on AWS, with primary focus on Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and reliability of production database environments supporting 24/7 business operations.
Design and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for critical systems.Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource optimization.
Automate database provisioning and infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
Implement and manage database monitoring and alerting using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Splunk, and Datadog.
Support database migrations and upgrades, including on-premise to AWS cloud migrations.
Ensure database security, access control, encryption, and compliance with enterprise policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, incidents, and outages in a timely manner.
Work closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to design scalable and optimized database solutions.
Implement and maintain database high availability and replication mechanisms.
Support capacity planning, database scaling strategies, and cost optimization within AWS.
Develop automation and tooling using Python or Go for operational efficiency.
Required Skills
Strong experience with AWS database services, especially Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, and related AWS ecosystem services.
Expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, including performance tuning, replication, backup, and recovery
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Experience with database monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk.
Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and database troubleshooting.
