Job Description: Senior Construction Head - Semiconductor Project
JLL is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Head to lead on-site execution for the Semiconductor Project in Dholera. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overall construction delivery across all disciplines, ensuring the project is executed safely, to specified quality standards, and in accordance with the approved schedule and budget. Given the scale, technical complexity, and multi-contractor nature of a semiconductor manufacturing facility, the role demands strong hands-on execution leadership combined with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and resolve site-level challenges swiftly.
The Senior Construction Head will be responsible for overall site execution, directing and coordinating the work of multiple contractors across civil, structural, MEP, and specialized semiconductor fit-out and cleanroom packages. The role involves translating the approved project schedule into actionable execution plans, allocating resources appropriately, and ensuring day-to-day site activities progress in line with the master programme developed by the Planning Lead.
The role holder will be accountable for enforcing quality standards and specifications across all work fronts, working closely with the quality assurance team to ensure non-conformances are identified and resolved promptly. They will drive a strong safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with HSE protocols, statutory requirements, and client-specific safety standards, and will be responsible for maintaining a zero-harm work environment across a high-activity, multi-contractor site.
The Senior Construction Head will coordinate closely with the Planning Lead to review progress against schedule, identify execution bottlenecks, and implement recovery measures for delayed work fronts. They will work with the Commercial/Billing Head to ensure physical progress is accurately reflected in measurement and billing processes, and will support resolution of site-level commercial issues arising from scope changes or site conditions. Coordination with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and labor resources to support the construction programme is also a core responsibility.
Additionally, the role requires managing interfaces between multiple contractors and trades to avoid work-front conflicts, chairing regular site progress and coordination meetings, and escalating critical risks or resource constraints to the Project Director in a timely manner. The individual will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and building capability within a team of construction managers, site engineers, and supervisory staff, ensuring consistent execution standards are maintained across all work fronts. The role also involves close engagement with client representatives and consultants during site inspections, technical reviews, and progress walkthroughs.
A minimum of 20 years of overall experience in construction management is required, with a demonstrated track record of leading execution on very large industrial or infrastructure projects. Prior experience on semiconductor, manufacturing, data center, or other highly technical industrial projects involving cleanroom construction, specialized MEP systems, or stringent quality/contamination control requirements will be considered a strong advantage.
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. Strong working knowledge of construction methodologies, quality standards, HSE regulations, and multi-contractor site management practices is essential. Familiarity with planning tools (Primavera P6 or similar) and quality/HSE management systems is expected.
Excellent communication skills are mandatory, as the role requires constant interaction with the Project Director, client representatives, consultants, contractors, and internal planning, commercial, and quality teams. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership presence, decisiveness under pressure, and the ability to resolve site-level conflicts and technical issues efficiently. Strong people management skills are essential, given the scale of the workforce and number of contractors typically engaged on a project of this size. The individual should also bring a proactive, safety-first mindset and sound judgment in balancing schedule pressure with quality and safety imperatives.
This is a site-based role located at Dholera, Gujarat, requiring full-time, on-ground presence and close coordination with the Planning, Commercial/Billing, Quality, and HSE teams throughout the project lifecycle.
