Senior Compliance Specialist Roles – 24 Month Maximum Term Contracts

HESTA is seeking two experienced compliance professionals to join our team on 24-month maximum term contracts.

These senior specialist roles offer the opportunity to make a significant impact in critical compliance areas. Both positions require seasoned compliance experts with strong technical knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and experience in financial services, ideally superannuation. You'll work collaboratively with business teams, legal, regulatory engagement, and risk functions to strengthen HESTA's compliance framework in specialised focus areas.

Opportunity #1: As our Senior Compliance Specialist – Third Party Oversight you will focus on embedding HESTA's Compliance Framework into third party management. You'll provide structured compliance oversight of HESTA's third-party providers, including our administration services provider, ensuring compliance requirements are implemented in line with policies and regulatory obligations.

Your day will see you:

  • Lead robust ongoing compliance oversight of HESTA's administration services provider
  • Coordinate improvement actions to achieve step-change in evidenced compliance capability
  • Develop and implement structured plans for improving oversight of other material service providers
  • Represent HESTA in internal and external forums related to third party compliance
  • Ensure sustainable transition to 'business as usual' operations with effective handover
  • Provide compliance expertise, specialist technical advice and reviews of third-party service delivery and changes delivered
  • Conduct compliance reviews and impact assessments of outsourcing arrangements


About you:

  • Prior experience in supporting business teams on technical compliance requirements, with focus on super administration & effecting robust oversight where there is complete reliance on third parties for operational delivery
  • Prior experience in Attestation Frameworks
  • Financial services background, superannuation experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in highly regulated environments
  • Ability to building strong stakeholder networks and relationships
  • Solid understanding of superannuation regulatory compliance and administration processes
  • Proficiency with GRC platforms for obligations, record management and reporting
  • Qualifications in risk, compliance, business or related discipline (desired)

Opportunity #2: As our Senior Compliance Specialist – Investigations you will provide specialist compliance oversight of thematic compliance reviews, regulatory enquiries and support of breach investigations and remediation activities.

Your day will see you:

  • Providing specialist compliance expertise to support breach and incident investigations
  • Oversee rectification and remediation of compliance breaches, ensuring thorough root cause analysis
  • Guide business teams on regulatory compliance obligations and compliance culture emphasis
  • Provide compliance oversight ensuring alignment with the Fund's Risk Appetite Statement

About you:

  • Experienced across Compliance management, Incident management, Remediation, and Reporting
  • Supported and advised business teams on compliance requirements
  • Financial services background, superannuation experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in highly regulated environments
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder networks and relationships
  • Solid understanding of superannuation regulatory compliance and administration processes
  • Qualifications in risk, compliance, business or related discipline (desired)
