About the role
We are looking for a Senior Compliance & Regulatory Change Analyst to play a critical role in protecting the Bank by ensuring regulatory obligations are identified, understood, and effectively implemented.
Sitting within our Enterprise Risk, Compliance & Sustainability division, this role is key to enabling a strong, proactive risk culture and supporting the business to meet its compliance obligations with confidence.

As a Senior Compliance & Regulatory Change Analyst, you will help protect the Bank by ensuring regulatory obligations are identified, understood, and implemented effectively.
Working within our Enterprise Risk, Compliance & Sustainability team, you also will partner across the business to drive a proactive risk culture, provide trusted compliance advice, perform compliance assurance activities and ensure our policies and frameworks remain fit for purpose in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess regulatory and legislative changes impacting Heartland Bank Australia
Partner with risk owners and business teams to ensure timely implementation of regulatory requirements
Identify and escalate risks or delays in regulatory change implementation
Provide trusted compliance advice across complex compliance matters
Support and execute compliance assurance activities in line with Line 2 responsibilities
Prepare risk and compliance reporting for leadership and governance forums
Maintain and uplift the policy framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and risk appetite
Coordinate policy lifecycle activities, including review, approval and publication
You’re a pro with
Monitoring and interpreting regulatory and legislative change
Communicating complex requirements in a clear, practical way
Building strong stakeholder relationships across business and risk functions
Providing compliance advice in a regulated financial services environment
Conducting compliance assurance assessments
Managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes with accuracy and accountability
You also bring
A relevant tertiary qualification in law, compliance, risk, finance or a related field
Experience in compliance, regulatory change or operational risk within financial services
Familiarity with APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC regulatory frameworks (desirable)
Understanding of policy governance and lifecycle management
Experience with GRC systems (e.g. Protecht, Archer, LogicGate) (desirable)
A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
