Job Description

Under the general direction of the Director, Compliance, this position is responsible for providing compliance audit and support to all GCE location in Ontario. The Senior Gaming Compliance Officer is accountable for internal process review, efficient documentation, and is able to identify potential problems with controls and evaluate associated risks.

This role will provide guidance and recommendations to the Gaming Compliance Officer (GCO) team, as well as the Director of Compliance. An incumbent in this role will ensure compliance with Gaming Laws, Operating Agreements, Provincial Gaming Corporation policies, PCMLTFA and the regulations thereunder, other Applicable Laws and the requirements listed within the Compliance Manual. The incumbent in this role will lead by example while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conducts compliance reviews with a focus on casino operations including Security, Surveillance, Table Games, Slots, Cage, Marketing, and Food & Beverage.
  • Assists in the review and finalization of the compliance assessments and audits.
  • Assists Compliance Departments with reviewing internal processes, documents / reports, and all activities which assure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of risk based compliance reviews.
  • Works closely with Compliance Director and GCO team to develop and ensure alignment with review processes and documentation.
  • Supports as well as provides mentoring and guidance to the GCO team on all Compliance related duties and tasks.
  • Liaises with provincial and federal regulatory agencies as the primary operational contact for site audits; assists with investigations; prepares and distributes reports and responses; follows up with sites to ensure procedural concerns are dealt with appropriately.
  • Assists in the management of gaming business relationships requirements.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting to corporate gaming directors as requested.
  • Assists in the execution of departmental plans and activities.
  • Participates in workplace health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments and corporate compliance.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned or directed.

Educational and Functional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline such as business administration, audit, or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of gaming compliance experience or similar
  • Risk Management certification
  • Strong knowledge of AML and privacy legislation
  • Expert knowledge of BC regulatory framework, BCLC standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Expert knowledge of GCE policies and procedures
  • Proven investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Maintains an acceptable criminal & background record check.
  • Valid driver’s license

Minimum Salary (CAD $) 73,500

Midpoint Salary (CAD $) 98,500

Maximum Salary (CAD $) 123,500
