We have multiple opportunities for an experienced Senior Compliance Obligations Specialist to join our high-performing Compliance team. As part of the team, you will drive a major project to uplift HESTA's compliance obligations management, leveraging your deep superannuation compliance expertise and analytical skills.

Please note these are maximum term contracts from 12 months to 24 months in duration.

As our Senior Compliance Obligations Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering assigned scope in a project to embed a new approach and practices for HESTA's compliance obligations management. Reporting to the Obligations Management Lead, you'll combine extensive superannuation compliance expertise with analytical skills and strong business stakeholder engagement to provide confidence in the strength of HESTA's compliance arrangements.

Your day will see you contribute to the Obligations Management Uplift Project by:

  • autonomously delivering complex project activities;
  • conducting expert superannuation compliance analysis to identify gaps and weaknesses in the documented control environment;
  • proactively engaging HESTA senior leaders to validate outcomes and identify agreed actions to address gaps;
  • managing data uploads into HESTA's GRC system; and
  • establishing ongoing action monitoring mechanisms to track actions and keep executive teams updated on important progress metrics.
  • maintain and Enhance the Obligations Register
  • provide Expert Compliance Guidance including:
  • delivering expert compliance advice on HESTA's compliance plans, including obligation interpretation;
  • working collaboratively with the Compliance team to ensure aligned positions on technical matters; and
  • supporting effective change management to ensure embedment of intended business practices.

About you:

  • At least 7 years' experience in compliance roles, ideally in superannuation or APRA-regulated financial services organisations
  • Undergraduate qualifications in commerce or relevant discipline (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proven experience advising business teams on compliance requirements
  • Strong track record of building relationships with stakeholders from executive to individual contributors
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality outcomes under time pressure
  • Experience reporting to executive, board and regulator audiences
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance in the superannuation industry
  • Expertise in compliance assurance and program implementation
  • Proficiency with GRC software (RSA Archer experience highly valued)
  • Strong data validation and analytical dashboard capabilities
  • Compliance reporting expertise
