We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Compliance Manager to play a pivotal leadership role within our Risk & Compliance (R&C) function.
At the heart of this role is the responsibility to champion a strong, proactive risk and compliance culture, one where doing the right thing is central to everything we do. By providing clear leadership, expert insight and constructive challenge, you will enable the business to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape with confidence.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role, responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the risk and compliance and maintaining high standards in line with the Risk Management Framework. You will also support our Chief Risk Officer with embedding a strong, sustainable risk culture across the Society.
What you’ll be owning
You will act as a trusted advisor and constructive challenger to the business, ensuring that compliance not only meets regulatory requirements but actively supports strong decision-making and customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
· Setting the tone Lead, coach and inspire a high-performing Compliance team, creating an environment where people challenge, collaborate and grow
· Staying ahead of the curve Own regulatory oversight across mortgages, savings, AML and conduct, translating complexity into clear, practical guidance
· Driving assurance Shape and deliver a risk-based Integrated Assurance Plan that genuinely challenges and strengthens the first line
· Being the voice of reason (and challenge) Influence senior stakeholders and committees with insight, clarity and conviction
· Protecting trust Oversee data protection governance, ensuring ethical, secure and compliant use of member data
· Making it real From policy ownership to deep dives and financial promotion approvals, you’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

You are an experienced compliance professional with the credibility and confidence to operate at a senior level. You combine strong technical expertise with the ability to influence, challenge and support the business effectively.
