Our client, a well-established CSP based in Malta, is looking for a Senior Compliance Executive to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a driven compliance professional to join a dynamic team serving a largely international client base spanning a broad range of industries, as well as private clients.
This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €40K.
Role & Responsibilities
Collect, verify, and maintain CDD documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal onboarding requirements
Conduct client risk assessments at onboarding and throughout the relationship, applying a risk-based approach, including client acceptance, ongoing monitoring, and periodic re-evaluations
Undertake EDD on higher-risk clients in accordance with the PMLFTR and FIAU Implementing Procedures
Review sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening alerts, assessing ML/FT risk exposure and providing clear, well-supported recommendations
Liaise with internal departments to obtain relevant information and ensure adherence to AML/CFT procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, both physical and electronic, ensuring audit readiness
Support internal audit processes, procedures, and documentation, as well as statutory compliance obligations
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of AML/CFT policies and internal controls, ensuring alignment with Maltese and EU regulatory frameworks and sanctions regimes
Support and mentor junior compliance team members, including assisting with AML/CFT training delivery
Identify and escalate suspicious activity to the MLRO in a timely manner
Education, Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience in AML/CFT compliance
Previous working experience within a CSP or other regulated environment is a plus
Entry-level AML qualifications and evidence of completed training is a plus
Sound knowledge of Financial Services Industry regulations and standards, with a strong understanding of the Maltese CSP regulatory framework, company and trust law, and AML/CFT regulations
Solid understanding of DD and AML functions and practices
Fluency in English both written and spoken
Risk assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations effectively in a business context
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
Multi tasking with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Comfortable working independently and within a team
