Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates community outreach and assist with completion and follow up of applications for The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Connecting Kids to Coverage grant. Provides information, education, and enrollment assistance for Medicaid, CHIP and CareLink. Serves as a liaison between all internal and external customers among the Health System, the community, and Bexar County agencies. Assists and supports outreach and education efforts for the grant at school district and community events. Prepares and conducts educational presentations provide to educate the community at large about the Connecting Kids to Coverage grant, and CareLink and its programs. Collaborates with other University Health System programs and community partners to identify potential applications for the grant.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in health education or a social science is preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience in community health promotion, volunteer activity coordination, or other preventive health programs in a community health setting is preferred. Experience in public and/or educational presentations, individually or in groups, demonstrating effective communication skills is required. English/Spanish fluency is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

A valid Texas State DL operator’s license “Class C” and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
