As the Senior Communications Specialist, Employee Communications, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, high-quality internal communications that keep employees informed, connected, and aligned with Central 1’s strategy and culture.
You will be responsible for managing internal communications channels, executing a dynamic editorial calendar, and supporting the planning and delivery of communications that enable employees to successfully participate in organizational initiatives and transformation efforts.
This role is highly collaborative and hands-on—ideal for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, virtual-first environment and is passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences through thoughtful, well-executed communications.
Develop, manage, and execute a comprehensive internal communications editorial calendar aligned to business priorities, employee needs, and key initiatives
Create clear, engaging, and employee-focused content across channels, including intranet, newsletters, leadership communications, and campaign materials
Translate complex business initiatives into accessible and relevant messaging for employees
Ensure a consistent voice, tone, and quality across all internal communications
Manage and maintain internal communications channels (e.g., intranet, newsletters, digital platforms), ensuring content is current, accessible, and engaging
Monitor channel performance and identify opportunities to improve reach, usability, and effectiveness
Recommend and implement enhancements to tools, formats, and approaches to better serve a virtual and distributed workforce
Support the execution of employee engagement activities such as town halls, campaigns, and key moments
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and execute communications plans for projects and initiatives that impact employees
Provide practical, solutions-oriented communications counsel to project teams and business partners
Ensure communications are timely, coordinated, and aligned with broader organizational messaging
Support change and transformation initiatives by delivering clear, employee-centric communication approaches
Contribute to communications that help employees feel informed, connected, and proud to work at Central 1
Support the amplification of employee-focused initiatives, culture programs, and engagement activities
Collaborate with People & Culture, Marketing, and other teams to ensure a consistent and compelling employee experience
Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
5–8+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications
Proven experience developing and executing communications plans and editorial calendars
Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize internal communications channels in a digital, virtual-first environment
Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels
Experience supporting employee-focused initiatives, change communications, or organizational transformation efforts
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent stakeholder collaboration skills and a proactive, service-oriented mindset
Professional communications accreditation or certification (i.e. CMP, SCMP, APR) preferred
High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Alignment with Central 1’s values and a passion for creating positive employee experiences
Salary range: $90,000-$105,000
