Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to provide strategic leadership across public relations, media engagement and content production, strengthening public trust, communicating organizational priorities and safeguarding institutional reputation. The successful candidate will lead integrated communications strategies, oversee media relations and reputation management, and direct the development and delivery of high-quality, consistent content across traditional, digital and owned channels.

The role will provide trusted communications advice to senior leadership, coordinate messaging across departments, manage relationships with local and international media, and lead communications planning for major events and emerging issues. It will also oversee communications teams, contractors and external partners, ensuring strong brand governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Note – this is a fixed term contract and will require the incumbent to be available to start at short notice.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree relevant to communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or related field; a postgraduate qualification or master’s is preferred.
• Minimum of 7–10 years in Public Relations, Content and Production, Strategic Marketing, and corporate communications or events, with at least 4 of those years in a leadership or management capacity.
• Strong senior communications leadership spanning PR/media relations, content strategy and crisis response.
• Evidence of strategic judgement, senior stakeholder influence, excellent written/oral communication, team leadership, complex project management and effective decision-making under pressure.
