
Leidos is seeking an experienced communications and marketing professional to support the Health & Services business with integrated strategies that advance growth, strengthen brand positioning, and engage both external and internal audiences. Reporting to the VP, Health & Services Communications, this role will develop and execute coordinated communications and marketing initiatives across earned, owned, and paid channels.
This is a hands-on, mid-level individual contributor role responsible for managing and executing complex campaigns and priorities. The successful candidate will bring strong strategic judgment, excellent writing skills, and experience operating across communications and marketing disciplines—storytelling, media engagement, digital activation, and targeted paid efforts.
The ideal candidate has experience working in federal health, health services, or highly regulated environments and is comfortable translating complex solutions into compelling, audience-focused narratives.
Primary Responsibilities
Integrated Communications & Marketing Strategy
Develop and execute integrated communications and marketing plans that align with Health & Services business priorities and growth objectives.
Coordinate use of earned, owned, and paid channels to drive awareness, engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
Partner with corporate Communications & Marketing, Growth, Technology, and other teams to ensure cohesive planning and execution.
External Communications & Thought Leadership
Create compelling external content, including press releases, articles, website copy, social posts, and campaign messaging.
Support media relations efforts in collaboration with Corporate Communications, including story development, content support, pitching, and managing press inquiries.
Position Health & Services leaders and capabilities through thought leadership and market-facing storytelling.
Paid Media & Digital Activation
Support planning and execution of targeted paid media initiatives, in partnership with Marketing and Brand Experience teams.
Develop messaging and creative inputs for paid campaigns, ensuring alignment with broader communications strategies.
Monitor performance and apply insights to optimize messaging and channel mix.
Internal Communications & Alignment
Develop internal communications that inform and engage employees around business priorities, growth initiatives, and customer impact.
Support leadership communications, town halls, and internal campaigns as needed.
Ensure alignment between internal messaging and external positioning.
Collaboration & Measurement
Work closely with cross-functional partners across Health & Services, Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Growth.
Track and analyze communications and marketing effectiveness, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field and 12+ years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or integrated roles. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Exceptional writing and editing skills (to include AP Style), with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated communications or marketing campaigns.
Expertise in media relations, with demonstrated experience designing effective earned media strategies and working with reporters and spokespeople
Familiarity with digital channels and basic paid media concepts.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Experience working across matrixed organizations and collaborating with senior leaders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in health, federal health, health services, or other highly regulated industries.
Exposure to paid media planning, digital advertising, or campaign analytics.
Experience collaborating with external agencies or vendors.

Pay Range $105,300.00 - $190,350.00
