Job Description Summary

Manage assigned fluid commodity categories (valves, pumps, and heat exchangers) for the Gas Power business. Support development and execution of commodity strategies that meet or exceed GEV expectations and negotiate supplier contracts to achieve optimal terms while meeting project needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of supplier purchase orders for assigned commodities.
  • Develop and execute supplier strategies to optimize Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance.
  • Identify suppliers for project opportunities, lead commercial negotiations, and support sourcing strategy execution.
  • Allocate demand across the supply base and ensure suppliers meet GE Vernova requirements and business objectives.
  • Coordinate supplier awards and purchase order placement with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage purchase order changes, commercial claims, and supplier issues related to delivery, quality, and cost performance.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in assigned commodities and supply markets.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supplier performance and business processes.
  • Resolve complex business challenges, build stakeholder alignment, and influence outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced team members.
  • Utilize sound business judgment, technical expertise, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to drive informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR a High School Diploma/GED with significant relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supplier management, procurement, sourcing, commodity management, supplier quality, or a related supply chain function.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Commodity Management, Supply Chain Management, supplier negotiations, and contract development.
  • Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve supplier performance, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to support business decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Procurement teams.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects, manage competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated problem-solving and project management capabilities.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $108,800.00 and $181,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
