Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Commissioning Engineer - System Integration who thrives in a fast-paced environment, to perform document control and records management on behalf of project user groups. This is a full-time permanent role based in Perth, Australia
Key accountabilities:
Perform the lab integration for full end to end ETCS solutions including target and virtual environment based on the T&C facilities
Participating in the testing and commissioning of on-board, trackside, communications and train control systems in accordance with the Commissioning procedures;
Performing factory and site testing as required;
Participating in fault identification during set to work activities and during commissioning.
Supporting the Commissioning Manager or his delegate in ensuring the timely production of Test Plans, Procedures and Reports at the project level;
Supporting the Commissioning Manager or his delegate in the continuous improvement of project documentation.
Supporting the engineering and validations teams where required including:
Executing test cases / procedures in a lab environment to support lab integration activities
Ensuring site test execution plans are executable in the field or target environment;
Attending project progress meetings as and when required;
Ensure that the test and commissioning activities are executed in alignment with the Work, Health and Safety requirements of the company and the project
Supporting the Functional Manager in the evaluation of the performance of assigned resources, identifying the need for additional resource with project justification and identifying training needs
Required skills and knowledge:
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in engineering or similar field is essential
3+ years' experience in the Rail or similar industry with demonstrated capability and skills in:
Safety systems equipment and environment
Experience in Traffic Management System in ETCS is preferred
Experience in system integration, testing and commissioning roles
Experience with test automation tools or scripts (e.g. Python)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of ERP and Configuration Management tools
Knowledge of CENELEC standards
Knowledge of planning and budget estimation
An ability to travel within Australia (i.e. Brisbane/Sydney/Perth) as required by the project.
