As we continue to grow our Service Division, we are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Service Technician to troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC and mechanical systems. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who can work independently, solve challenging system issues, provide exceptional customer service, and serve as a technical resource for other members of the Service team.

What You'll Do

Diagnose & Service Commercial HVAC Systems

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment and mechanical systems
• Service equipment including DOAS units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and water-side HVAC systems
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency
• Identify system issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Use diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to resolve complex equipment and system issues
• Verify proper system operation following repairs, maintenance, and service

Deliver Quality Service

• Perform repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer requirements, industry standards, and company expectations
• Identify potential equipment concerns before they develop into larger system failures
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship on every service call
• Complete work orders, service reports, and required documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe working condition
• Participate in the on-call rotation as required

Support Our Customers

• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment conditions, recommended repairs, and completed work
• Clearly explain technical issues and available solutions to facility personnel and customer contacts
• Recommend repair, replacement, and system improvement opportunities when appropriate
• Build strong customer relationships through responsive, reliable, and professional service
• Coordinate with Service Managers, Dispatchers, and other technicians to ensure customer needs are addressed
• Represent Anderson Mechanical Services professionally at customer facilities

Lead Through Experience

• Serve as a technical resource for less experienced Service Technicians
• Assist team members with troubleshooting complex HVAC and mechanical issues
• Mentor and support technicians as they develop their technical skills
• Share field knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, and industry best practices
• Promote a team-oriented culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and customer service

What You Bring

• Journeyman HVAC License required
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across commercial HVAC systems
• Experience servicing several of the following:
• DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems)
• Chillers
• Cooling towers
• Pumps
• Water-side HVAC systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and make effective diagnostic decisions in the field
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of commercial HVAC service work, including lifting equipment and climbing ladders
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

• EPA Universal Certification
• Manufacturer certifications or factory training on commercial HVAC equipment
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC controls
• Experience troubleshooting and servicing multiple brands of commercial HVAC equipment
• Experience with complex commercial or mission-critical mechanical systems
• Previous experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other Service Technicians

Position Overview

Anderson Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Service Technician to join our growing Service team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled HVAC professional with extensive experience servicing complex commercial mechanical systems. We're looking for technicians who can independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of commercial HVAC equipment while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate has experience working across multiple commercial systems, including DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems), chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and water-side HVAC systems. Candidates do not need expertise in every specialty but should have strong commercial experience across several of these areas.

In this role, you'll work directly with commercial customers to keep critical building systems operating efficiently while representing Anderson Mechanical Services with professionalism and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment and mechanical systems.
• Service and maintain equipment including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, DOAS units, and other water-side HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Identify system issues and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding system conditions, recommendations, and completed work.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
• Mentor and assist less experienced technicians when needed.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman HVAC License required.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills on commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience servicing several of the following:
• DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems)
• Chillers
• Cooling Towers
• Pumps
• Water-side HVAC systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work safely in indoor and outdoor environments.
