
Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Nationwide, UK
Linxon is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to provide commercial leadership across our UK portfolio of high-voltage substation and infrastructure projects. This is a strategic role responsible for safeguarding Linxon’s commercial interests, driving best practice in contract and claim management, and supporting project teams through all phases of project delivery.
As the Senior Commercial Manager, you will oversee the commercial governance of multiple projects, ensuring robust contract administration, effective risk management, and commercial excellence across project execution. Working closely with project, procurement, legal, and senior leadership teams, you will play a critical role in maximizing opportunities, mitigating risks, and delivering successful project outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide commercial governance and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with contract management best practices and company procedures.
• Support project teams in developing procurement strategies, evaluating bids, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure head contract obligations, liabilities, and commercial risks are identified and appropriately managed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead contract administration activities, including management of payments, claims, variations, warranties, guarantees, and contractual correspondence.
• Provide oversight of subcontract and supply agreement administration to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and scope is delivered effectively.
• Monitor and support valuation, certification, and payment processes to maintain strong commercial controls across projects.
• Prepare and contribute to project reporting, including schedule performance, procurement status, cash flow, cost/value reconciliation, and risk and opportunity management.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, develop mitigation strategies, and collaborate with Legal and Project Management teams to negotiate and finalize agreements
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven background in construction and HV electrical substation projects.
• Experience as a Commercial Manager managing various forms of National Grid contracts.
• Experience working within major infrastructure, EPC, energy, or construction environments.
• Experience working with Tier 1 Contractors is preferred.
