Senior Commercial Loan ProcessorACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

This position will be the primary resource for facilitating commercial loan closings in the department and must work closely with all lending and credit personnel. They will interact with internal and external members, vendors, and attorneys on a continual basis and always provide superior service levels. The incumbent will coordinate and perform activities to facilitate the loan processing and closing process and ensure loans are documented, liens are perfected, and the files can be serviced properly without exceptions.
They must stay abreast of all Federal and State regulations related to commercial lending. The highest level of integrity and ethics must always be exhibited as much of the work is confidential.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the entire processing workflow of commercial real estate loans. This includes processing, due diligence, clearing conditions, closing, funding, and post-closing.
  • Serves as lead CRE processor that is the primary SME for processing of specialty loans, including but not limited to construction, SBA, asset-based loans, and USDA.
  • May serve as back up for Commercial Loan Processing Manager, as needed.
  • Responsible for gathering all necessary documents from the originating loan officer to meet loan closing conditions.
  • Review all attorney prepared real estate loan documents for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to lender’s specific requirements, with particular attention paid to rates, terms, conditions, covenants, guarantees, etc.
  • Prepare and review all VyStar required compliance and ancillary documents real estate loan closings.
  • Prepare real estate loans for boarding in the loan origination system (nCino) in a timely manner
  • Coordinates closely with outside vendors to ensure appraisals, environmental reports, surveys and inspections are accurate and timely.
  • Disburse all loan proceeds in accordance with loan approvals and department standards
  • Verify and correct any lien or title issues relevant to the property.
  • Manage UCC, Flood, and other applicable websites for critical loan information
  • Oversee the pre-close and post-close process on all real estate loans.
  • Assist management in preparation for internal/external audits as needed
  • Processes construction loan draws ensuring that proper controls and procedures are being followed. Manages all transactions on the construction loan amount.
  • Interact with customers and builders to answer questions and address issues that may arise regarding the construction loan process.
  • Manages various construction loan account transactions within the Credit Union operating systems.
  • Completes the upload and conversion to permanent processing within the servicing data base and insures the loan record is fully documented.
  • Interacts closely with 3rd party vendor for construction administration to ensure construction loans are reconciled.
  • Maintains a production pipeline flow for optimum loan production for multiple loans and adhere to critical deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of VyStar policies and procedures relating to commercial lending.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal requirements for loan documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve problems and, if needed, develop alternate solutions
  • Assist in the creation and modification of all procedures relating to loan origination, including desktop procedures.
  • Meticulously maintain documentation files and accompanying ticklers to ensure clean audits and audit commercial loan files for elimination of exceptions.
  • Adhere to VyStar Credit Union and departmental policies and procedures with regards to attendance, daily schedules, action items and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to lift weighted commercial loan files, in some cases over 20 pounds.
  • Other essential job-related duties as assigned including acting as commercial loan services member support and commercial loan processor secondary support level.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years credit union, retail banking or mortgage experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Commercial Lending Loan Origination with a similar size Financial Institution.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience with commercial construction lending.

Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong background in core processing systems, particularly Miser and nCino or the ability to quickly learn applicable systems and software.
  • Knowledgeable with loan documents, reports and closing procedures.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of VyStar policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate support staff.
  • Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, and email programs.

Education

Required: High School diploma

Preferred: Associate degree
