Industry Focus: Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
As a hybrid Commercial Buyer and Project Buyer, you are responsible for representing our commercial interests in development projects and play a key role in shaping the future EMS supplier strategy within the Home Comfort Division.
You will lead EMS sourcing activities in development projects and ensure competitive, reliable, and scalable manufacturing solutions for electronic assemblies and box-build products.
Responsibilities
• In our team you are responsible for the sourcing and commercial management of EMS suppliers in development projects, ensuring competitive manufacturing cost, quality, and capacity.
• You control the time-to-market process from supplier nomination through SOP and ramp-up, ensuring smooth introduction of new products into EMS production.
• Your tasks include global coordination and implementation of EMS commodity strategy, including footprint decisions, dual sourcing, and localization initiatives.
• You are responsible for group-wide cooperation in purchasing and represent the interests of the Home Comfort division within the global purchasing organization.
• You ensure operational support of plants worldwide by securing EMS capacity, flexibility, and supply continuity.
• You act as the interface between business unit and EMS suppliers, managing both strategic and operational topics.
• The creation and implementation of EMS sourcing strategies, contract frameworks (MSA), and fulfillment of cost targets through commercial and contractual negotiations are part of your responsibility.
• You work closely with international teams and EMS suppliers in China and globally.
Key Focus Areas (EMS-Specific)
• PCBA and box-build manufacturing (SMT, THT, testing, final assembly)
• Open-book costing and transparency of:
• Material cost
• Conversion cost
• NRE and tooling
• Capacity planning and ramp-up management
• Semiconductor allocation management within EMS
• Supply chain risk mitigation
• Cost optimization through VA/VE initiatives
Education
• Completed university studies in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering) or comparable field.
Qualification
• Good knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
• Strong understanding of EMS cost structures and manufacturing processes.

Experience and Knowledge
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in:
• Project Purchasing and Strategic Purchasing
• EMS supplier management
• Electronics manufacturing environment
• Experience in:
• Negotiating Manufacturing Service Agreements (MSA)
• Cost breakdown and price negotiations
• NPI and ramp-up in EMS environment
• Good knowledge of supply chain management and contract negotiation.
Enthusiasm

• Team player with flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
Languages
• Business fluent English (mandatory)
