Job Description

• Design and develop high-performance C++ networking libraries in collaboration with the global team.
• Help define the technical direction for reusable communication and networking capabilities across the C++ estate.
• Identify, experiment with and evaluate technologies that could form the basis of next-generation firmwide systems.
• Work with infrastructure, networking and security teams on platform integration and hardening topics.
• Identify technology gaps and propose practical solutions, with a focus on developer productivity, performance and resilience.
• Collaborate with application teams on requirements, adoption and integration.
• Work with internal clients to improve application performance and reliability.
• Maintain and enhance existing C++ libraries and platform components.
• Promote best practices within the team and across the wider C++ community.
• Support other engineers through technical coaching, design review and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Strong academic record with Bachelor's level or above in a computational field like Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Expert modern C++ development experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and low-latency system design.
• Strong networking knowledge, including: - TCP/IP - HTTP / HTTPS - TLS / mTLS.
• Connection management, load balancing.
• Service discovery.
• Network resilience patterns.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge.
• Experience designing reusable libraries, frameworks or platform components.
• Strong debugging, profiling and performance analysis skills.
• Ability to work with application, infrastructure and platform teams across multiple areas.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Hungarian citizenship and fluent Hungarian/English language skills is a must.

Desirable Skills

• Modern C++ standards such as C++17, C++20 or C++23.
• Experience with low-latency or high-throughput networking systems.
• Python or other scripting languages.
• Build systems, toolchains and packaging infrastructure.
• Containers and Kubernetes.
• Authentication and authorization technologies.
• Cloud-native or hybrid infrastructure experience.
• Experience in software, telecommunications or other technically demanding engineering environments.
