The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of complex cloud infrastructure initiatives for Novigi and its clients. This role focuses on the planning and execution of cloud‑first and hybrid infrastructure programs, including large‑scale migrations from on‑premises environments to Microsoft Azure and AWS.

The role requires deep understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts and the ability to lead cross‑skilled engineering teams (cloud, network, security, DevOps, and operations) to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant cloud platforms. The Project Manager will work closely with client stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and external vendors to translate infrastructure strategy into successful delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of cloud infrastructure projects, including Azure and AWS platform builds, migrations, and hybrid cloud implementations.
  • Own project planning, execution, governance, and reporting for infrastructure‑led programs.
  • Lead migrations of on‑premises data centres, applications, and platforms to cloud environments.
  • Plan and manage migration waves to minimise downtime and business disruption.
  • Coordinate dependencies across networking, security, DevOps, and operations teams.
  • Engage with clients, engineers, architects, and vendors to define scope, requirements, and delivery approach.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and impacts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure infrastructure solutions meet security, regulatory, and compliance requirements (e.g. financial services, superannuation).
  • Proactively identify delivery and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Track and manage cloud costs, resourcing, and schedules to ensure efficient delivery and value realisation.
  • Work with engineering teams to optimise infrastructure usage and cost where required.
  • Coordinate identity, networking, security, and connectivity patterns across environments.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience delivering cloud infrastructure projects, including large‑scale migrations to Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts including; Virtualisation, Networking, Storage (SAN, cloud storage), Backup and disaster recovery, Identity and access management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional infrastructure teams (cloud engineers, network, security, DevOps, operations).
  • Hands‑on understanding of Azure services and architecture.
  • Current Microsoft Azure certification (e.g. AZ‑104, AZ‑305 or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering projects in highly regulated environments (financial services, banking, superannuation).
  • Ability to communicate complex infrastructure topics in clear, simple terms to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong experience using Agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban) within infrastructure programs.
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and translate strategy into executable delivery plans.
  • Strong risk management skills, particularly in migration and infrastructure change programs.
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
