Job Description

Founded in 1961, WWF works to help people and nature thrive. As a global conservation organization, WWF operates in more than 100 countries, partnering with communities, companies, and governments to protect wildlife, conserve vital habitats, and advance sustainable solutions. Grounded in science and driven by collaboration, WWF works to help nature by conserving biodiversity, supporting resilient communities, and addressing climate change. Nearly 1 million people in the United States and more than 5 million globally are WWF members.

About This Role

Every day, WWF's conservation teams across the globe rely on robust, secure cloud infrastructure to protect wildlife, engage communities, and drive climate action. As our Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll be the foundational force ensuring our technology systems enable this global impact by managing mission-critical infrastructure that directly supports conservation programs.

In this position, you'll directly enable WWF-US and our network of Country Offices across South America, Central America, Africa, and Asia to operate seamlessly. Your work ensures that critical systems stay online so our teams can focus on what matters most: protecting nature at scale.

What You'll Do:

Own Our Azure Infrastructure

You'll be the architect behind WWF's Azure environment, spinning up subscriptions, provisioning resources, and building/deploying VMs (Windows, SQL, Red Hat, firewalls) from the ground up in both production and staging.

Lock Down Security & Identity

Configure Microsoft Entra tenants, manage SSO through Azure Enterprise Apps, and keep our RBAC and user groups clean and secure. You'll patch systems proactively and use PowerShell + Graph API to automate the boring stuff so the important stuff runs smoother.

Be Our Safety Net

Design backup strategies and disaster recovery playbooks that actually work when it matters. You're the reason we sleep at night knowing our systems can bounce back from anything.

Keep Everything Connected

Troubleshoot networking across VNETs, sites, and tenants. Firewalls, load balancers, DNS (Azure + Cloudflare), you speak the language fluently and fix problems before they become fires.

Be the Go-To Expert

When Azure, Entra ID, or M365 issues get complicated, you're who the team calls. You'll lead projects end-to-end and keep stakeholders, technical and non-technical alike, in the loop every step of the way.

Show Up When It Counts

Occasional after-hours or weekend work for critical outages or planned maintenance, because uptime matters, and so does the team that protects it.
