For our client Swisscom in Zurich, we are looking for a motivated and open-minded Senior Cloud Architect – Virtualization (KVM/QEMU)

Your Responsabilities:

  • Design and build a cloud platform based on virtualization (KVM/QEMU, SDN)
  • Operate and integrate OVN / Open vSwitch for networking, routing, and tenant isolation
  • Automate provisioning and operations using IaC and CI/CD
  • Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, as well as incident and change processes
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and external partners, and conduct testing (integration, failover)

Your Profile:

  • IT education or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong Linux and system engineering skills
  • Solid experience with KVM, QEMU, libvirt, as well as OVN / Open vSwitch
  • Strong networking knowledge (L2/L3, routing, NAT, security, load balancing)
  • Experience with private cloud / IaaS, with a focus on scalability and high availability
  • Expertise in IaC and automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash) as well as CI/CD (Git, GitLab/GitHub)
  • Experience with monitoring/observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and security
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
