Job Details

The CIO Group provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery and is seeking experienced and motivated Cloud Engineers and/or Architects with a minimum of 5 years' experience to assist with the delivery of various ICT Projects across the CIO Group.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Cloud Engineers and/or Architects will be required to:

• Develop enterprise level cloud platform architectures for MS Azure and M365.
• Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-based systems.
• Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers.
• Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintain adherence to whole-of-government standards.
• Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build of cloud-based systems.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects and testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
• Liaise with the department’s Service Experience team to ensure architectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations.
• Liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment to target architectures and technology.
• Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation – testing, continuous integration and deployment.
• Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicable to cloud platforms – re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, open data/access over siloed functionality.
• Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions align with the DTA’s Digital Service Standard.
• Be strategic, a leader and influencer.
• Undertake additional duties as required.

Technical Skills

• MS Azure and M365 architecture
• Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus and Azure API Management
• Azure DevOps, code repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments
• Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM integration
• Azure networking, security and identity management
• Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role Based Access Control
• Application, integration and infrastructure platform architecture
• AWS and/or GCP experience is desirable

1. • Cloud experience: Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies including:
2. o Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus and Azure API Management
3. o Azure DevOps for code development, management, repositories, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments
4. o Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights
5. o Integrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
6. o Azure networking, security and identity management capabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role Based Access Control

14. • Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies. The Cloud Architect/Engineer will:
15. · Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level architectures for MS-Azure.
16. · Provide impact analysis and technical guidance in design and development of project work aligned with WoG Standards

Desirable criteria

1. • Demonstrated track record of technical leadership across project and operational tasks
2. • Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and architectures
3. • Demonstrated experience in application and integration, or infrastructure platform architecture.
4. • Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise systems.
5. • Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but not essential.
