About the Role

As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will help define the technical foundation of Esko's next-generation cloud platform.

You will shape the architecture of a modern, multi-tenant platform that powers products and shared capabilities across Esko's portfolio. This is a hands-on architecture role: you will set technical direction while also building critical platform components and reference implementations that turn architectural decisions into production-ready solutions.

You will work across Engineering, Product, Platform, Security, and Operations to evolve our distributed systems, data architecture, and cloud platform for the next stage of growth.

What You Will Do

• Define cloud and platform architecture for a secure, scalable, resilient, multi-tenant platform supporting multiple products and thousands of customers.
• Design distributed systems and establish patterns for service boundaries, event-driven interactions, consistency, resiliency, performance, scalability, and failure recovery.
• Shape data architecture and modeling across relational, NoSQL, graph, and distributed data systems, defining how data is modeled, governed, distributed, and accessed across products.
• Develop knowledge and semantic architecture, including knowledge graphs, ontologies, domain models, entity relationships, and semantic models that connect information across domains and enable AI-powered experiences.
• Build critical platform capabilities. Spend up to 50% of your time hands-on, developing foundational components, critical software modules, prototypes, and reference implementations.
• Establish architecture standards and guide technical decisions across software, APIs, data, cloud infrastructure, security, and platform engineering.
• Drive platform evolution, partnering with Product and Engineering leaders to translate business needs into architecture decisions and long-term technology investments.

Required Experience

• 15+ years of experience designing and building enterprise software, SaaS products, or large-scale cloud platforms.
• Strong software engineering background with recent hands-on experience building production software and platform components.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, scalability, resiliency, consistency models, fault tolerance, and distributed system design patterns.
• Strong expertise in data architecture and data modeling across relational, NoSQL, graph, and distributed data technologies.
• Experience designing knowledge graphs, semantic models, ontologies, or graph-based architectures for complex domains.
• Deep experience designing and operating multi-tenant, cloud-native platforms on AWS.
• Experience with platform APIs, Kubernetes/EKS, containers, Infrastructure as Code, and modern DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with technologies such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, graph databases, and other cloud-native data stores.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, authorization, and tenant-isolation patterns.
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence engineers, architects, product leaders, and executives.

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing data or platform capabilities supporting AI-enabled products, agents, or intelligent applications.
• Experience leading significant cloud modernization or platform transformation initiatives.
• AWS Professional-level certification.
• Experience with complex product/data domains, particularly consumer goods, life sciences, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
