Senior Clinical Trial Manager

We are looking for a Senior Clinical Trial Manager to join our Clinical Operations team in London.

Senior Clinical Trial Manager

The Senior Clinical Trial Manager (CTM) is responsible for planning and managing the overall activities of assigned global clinical trials, ensuring delivery according to timelines, budget, quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Senior CTM will work closely with cross-functional teams, Clinical Science Experts, Clinical Scientists and external partners to ensure successful execution throughout the clinical development lifecycle. Depending on the scope of the trial, the role may also provide leadership and oversight to other Clinical Trial Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Trial Management

• Lead and manage cross-functional Clinical Trial Teams to ensure all trial deliverables are completed according to timelines, budget, quality standards and operational best practices.
• Partner with Clinical Science Experts and Clinical Scientists on clinical trial design and execution.
• Establish study milestones, budgets and timelines in collaboration with the Clinical Trial Team and outsourcing partners.
• Monitor clinical trial progress and ensure appropriate documentation and data collection throughout the study.
• Proactively identify risks and develop and implement mitigation and action plans.
• Contribute to clinical study reporting and documentation supporting regulatory submissions and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements, international standards and the company quality system.
• Provide oversight to Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Trial Administrators, where applicable.

CRO & External Partner Management

• Collaborate with Procurement to define clinical outsourcing requirements and specifications.
• Participate in the selection of CROs and Functional Service Providers (FSPs).
• Act as the primary trial contact for CROs and FSPs and ensure effective oversight of external partners.

Quality & Process Improvement

• Ensure clinical trials remain inspection-ready throughout their lifecycle.
• Participate in inspection readiness activities and support the preparation and conduct of investigational site and health authority inspections, where applicable.
• Contribute to and initiate clinical trial and departmental process improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• University degree in Life Sciences, such as Biology, Pharmacology, Nursing, Health Sciences or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in clinical research/operations, including approximately 5 years in a managerial role or equivalent within Pharma, Biotech and/or CRO environments.
• Broad experience across the clinical trial lifecycle, from protocol development through to study reporting.
• Experience managing clinical trials in major markets, particularly the US and/or China.
• Proven experience supervising and managing CROs and external service providers.
• Strong understanding of the drug development process, with systemic drug and biologics experience preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines, with a working knowledge of GMP/GDP.
• Strong knowledge of relevant local regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
