NCH-Novato Community HospitalThe Senior Clinical Lab Scientist performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding of technical procedures on pediatric, adult and geriatric patients in all disciplines of the Clinical Laboratory, including but not limited to: Transfusion Service, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis and limited Microbiology. Provides technical support for problem resolution, regulatory compliance, and client issues to the Department Manager and Lead Technologist. Responsible for validity of test results, result reporting, specimen handling, and maintenance of necessary department records.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in a physical, chemical or biological science from a college or university accredited by the Western Association of Schools or Colleges, or the equivalent thereof.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist Upon Hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
6 mos-2 years. A minimum of 6 months of experience in an acute hospital clinical laboratory working as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Generalist competent in all modalities including Transfusion Service.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to work with laboratory information system.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to perform basic math and statistical functions.
Ability to apply independent judgment while carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay Range is $61.87 to $78.39 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
