Job Description

Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking an accomplished Senior Clinical Administrator for Cardiology to provide administrative, financial, and operational leadership for the Division of Cardiology within the Department of Medicine. This position will work closely with departmental leadership, division leadership, and physicians across General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, and Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation subspecialty areas. The Senior Clinical Administrator will oversee a broad portfolio encompassing financial management and budgeting, human resources, faculty affairs, clinical operations, recruitment and workforce planning, business development, and performance management. The role requires an individual who can translate clinical and academic priorities into actionable operating plans while building the infrastructure needed to support exceptional patient care, faculty success, and sustainable program growth.

The Senior Clinical Administrator will work alongside cardiovascular leaders to develop and execute strategic growth plans, expand specialty programs and access, evaluate new clinical and faculty investments, develop business and financial models, monitor productivity and performance, and coordinate complex initiatives across multiple clinical sites and stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong financial and analytical skills with expertise in academic medicine administration, HR and faculty affairs, and the ability to build trusted relationships with physicians, institutional leaders, and health-system partners. We are seeking a collaborative leader to work directly with clinical teams to turn ambitious ideas into measurable results.

  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with grants management
  • Experience with creating budgets and managing budgets
  • Health care/patient care experience
  • High proficiency with Excel and computer software packages
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments without direct supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of relevant management/administration experience
  • Clinical administration experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s level education
  • Knowledge of patient care environment including physician billing, collections, insurance filing, etc.
  • Experience with extramural research funding
