Senior Client Service Officer

  • Opportunity Ongoing position
  • Location: Sydney District (Strawberry Hills, Waterloo and Surry Hills) a nd Inner West and South-Eastern Sydney District (Ashfield, Maroubra, Miranda and Hurstville)
  • Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6 - $102,936 to $113,579 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior role within Housing Services.

The Senior Client Service Officer plays a crucial role in not only providing advice and developing strategic partnership to support clients with complex support and housing needs to essential services.

You will mentor and guide client service officers to enhance their ability to deliver exceptional service, driving to achieve sustainable housing outcomes to clients.

What you’ll do

In this role your responsibilities include:

  • Identify key stakeholders and maintaining relationships which will support stronger communities and innovative/integrated service delivery for clients.
  • Balance a business and systems improvement/team performance focus with competing client demands
  • Work directly with clients and their advocates to provide advice and assistance on housing options based on assessment of eligibility and client need and in keeping with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with internal specialists and external service providers and make referrals where additional support requirements are identified to better meet client’s needs.
  • Coach client service team members to improve skills in assessing and managing clients, including those with complex needs; and in managing client information systems to achieve greater efficiency in delivery processes.
  • Manage client information to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor workflows and identify work priorities, team development and training needs.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated experience working with clients in complex service environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Ability to support and coach team members to improve capability
  • Experience managing competing priorities and delivering results
  • A high-level of communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders and build long lasting relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing client needs and case load.
  • Ability to provide mentorship and training to develop team members.
  • Competency in case management and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate a positive can-do attitude
  • Current NSW driver’s licence preferred, but not essential.
