MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a current employee of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, speaking, and writing.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.‎

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
  • Knowledge of AHCA daily minimum staffing requirements.
  • Knowledge in preparing nursing monthly work schedules.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Florida.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that nursing staff is maintained according to agency nurses staffing standards and regulations governing State Veterans’ Nursing Homes.

  • Reports to the Director of Nursing (DON)
  • Responsible for posting schedules.
  • Maintain a daily-posted assignment schedule for licensed nurses and senior certified nursing assistants.
  • Compile and maintain cumulative staffing reports.
  • Record requested leave time.
  • Record/maintain in-house time keeping records that have been approved by supervisor and/or verified with DON.
  • Maintain records of sign in sheets
  • Compile and maintain Per Patient Day (PPD) reports.
  • Verify and compare PPD with time clock.
  • Enter data into electronic folders.
  • Post daily staffing numbers per State and Federal Regulations
  • Complete and submit monthly report to DON/designee on agency utilization including justification for use (as provided by DON)
  • Make time corrections daily and assist other departments as needed and with proper documentation.
  • Performs needed functions in the FDVA computerized record keeping system.
  • Attend all required facility training.
  • Perform other related duties as required and may perform duties as a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant, if certified, as required.
